About

I’ve been in the hobby since childhood, tinkering with old tube radios to transform them into amplifiers for my “state of the art” no-name Walkman; with moderate success. I am not a professional reviewer, but from time to time I enjoy writing about IEMs I like. Because most of the IEMs I write about are the ones I bought with my own money, you’ll notice that most of my reviews are rather positive. It makes sense, since I wouldn’t buy things I don’t like, right? Even with the IEMs I receive as part of a tour, I only sign up if I have strong reasons to believe I would like a particular set. Life’s too short for bad IEMs. Truth be told, there are almost no bad IEMs nowadays. Even if a tuning is not to my liking, it is still a good fit for someone else’s taste.

I listen mostly to metal, but also to other genres, like jazz, some hip-hop, classical and from time to time some pop. My preferred tuning is W, but also U or V tunings, when properly done are ok for me. Some of my all time favourites are UM Maven 2, NGaudio Erebus and Muxicbox Steranko S40, X and Storm.

In terms of sources, I like AK DAPs, Nipo and L&P. I prefer mobile setups, so I take great interest in portable amps, dac/amps and dongles. My main DAPs are Nipo N2, LP P6P HK and AK SP3000T. I also have an assortment of dongles, for traveling light.

And of course, you’ll notice the tiny but crazy powerful Brioso, that I thoroughly love.
